New Participant Confirmed For jewellery Festival

Anyone wondering what the prevailing fashion trends are in jewellery may be informed by the upcoming UK Jewellery Festival, which takes place in London early next month.

Fashion brand Angel Whisperer from Englesrufer has just been announced as the latest participant, Retail Jeweller reports. This means there are now more than 30 brands and retailers lined up for the event at The Brewery in the heart of the capital.

Over 150 buyers from jewellery stores, ranging from independent shops to major department stores, will be there to see what is on offer and stock up on the items they believe consumers will consider the most popular over the next year.

Whether it’s a silver twisted slave bangle, gold earrings or diamond rings people are after, the show may have a huge influence on what is available in the coming months.

It is the inaugural running of the show and other brands lined up include Gemex, Hockley Mint, Rotary, Feiner Gems, London Pearl and the Betts Group, representing sectors ranging from wedding jewellery and gem supplies to watchmakers and precious metal refiners. The event will also include the UK Jewellery awards.

Editor of Retail Jeweller Ruth Faulkner said noted the festival will be the first time people in the industry will be able to gather for 18 months.

She added: “We are really excited that it is shaping up to be such a great event with so many key buyers and brands and suppliers in attendance.”

Among those making forecasts about the latest jewellery fashions is British Vogue, which has suggested that the kinds of individualistic but opulent “high jewellery” worn in Zoom meetings will continue to have a post-pandemic influence.

Columnist Alice Newbold said jewellery creators are now devising “some of the grandest, most intimate and elaborate collections ever created” for the new world we are entering after the Covid Crisis.
